Hopkins Historical Society to host Larry Millett, author of Minnesota Modern: Architecture and Life at Midcentury

Noted author and historian Larry Millett will share photos and commentary on his latest work – Minnesota Modern: Architecture and Life at Midcentury, Tuesday, June 7, at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary at St Gabriel’s Church, St Joseph Campus, 1300 Mainstreet, Hopkins.  Millett’s book has been described as an exploration of post-World War II style that swept the nation from 1945 through the mid 1960’s, permeating the social, political and cultural institutions of that time. Presentation is sponsored by the Hopkins Historical Society as part of their ongoing educational series.

Hopkins Historical Society to host William D Green, who will speak about his book, "Degrees of Freedom"

The Hopkins Historical Society will be sponsoring a presentation by noted author William  D. Green on November 11th, 6:30 pm, Room 233, Eisenhower Community Center, 1001 Hwy 7,  Hopkins.  Green will present his new work, “Degrees of Freedom: The Origins of the Civil  Rights Movement in Minnesota, 1865-1912.” A question and answer session will follow  the presentation.

The Hopkins Historical Society will host a presentation by members of The Great Minneapolis Line Exposition Committee from the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion on Saturday, September 26, 2 pm at the Hopkins Activity Center, 33 14th Avenue North in Hopkins, Minnesota.
