Hopkins Historic Homes Program

Dear Hopkins Area Homeowner:

Thank you for your interest in our Hopkins Area Historic Homes Program. Each year our proclamation committee selects up to two homeowners to receive our historic homes award.

To assist the Hopkins Historic Homes committee, we would ask you to complete the form below designed to provide background on your home and neighborhood. This information will add life to the story of your home and will provide the Hopkins Historical Society with valuable first person accounts about historic Hopkins. You may find information in your abstracts by interviewing older neighbors or previous homeowners, doing research at the Hopkins Historical Society or the Hopkins Library.

A few things you need to know about the project:
* We are documenting histories and awarding proclamations to owners of Hopkins area homes that are 75 years or older.
* We are not a historical preservation committee.
* We do not dictate how older homes can be restored or renovated.
* Property taxes are not affected by our historic homes designation.
* Awards must be accepted in person at our October meeting – usually held the 4th Sunday in October.

It is with your help and support we continue to identify and preserve the history of our treasured Hopkins homes. Proclamation awards will be limited to two per year.

While the deadline is September 1st, you will want to submit this form as soon as you can.

If you prefer, you may also fill out and mail the completed PDF form to:
